18 year old Brit actress Abigail Lawrie makes her TV debut in next year's anticipated BBC adaptation of JK Rowling's The Casual Vacancy, taking on the role of Krystal Weedon, a 16 year old girl living on a housing estate, who dreams of a better life.

Starring alongside screen heavyweights including Rory Kinnear and Michael Gambon, the role is set to propel Lawrie, whose previous credits include Snap at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and student theatre productions Heartbreak and The Changeling, right to the forefront.
